DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOLOGY

The Department of Pharmacology is involved in teaching undergraduate students and was sanctioned Postgraduate course (MD) in the year 2011 with an intake of four seats per year.

The department is well-equipped teaching laboratories, demonstration rooms with audio-visual aids, museum with 88 charts and 204 exhibits, model, departmental library and a research laboratory. It houses an Institutional Animal House with facilities to breed small animals. Pharmacology department is also actively involved in establishing and expanding KSHEMA herbal garden in association with botanist from Pilikula Nisargadhama.

The research facilities available in the department include an Animal Operating Room equipped for microscopic surgeries, Psychoneuropharmacology, Cardiopharmacology laboratories, Ethnopharmacology unit, CNS Pharmacology. The department also has functioning Pharmacovigilance Cell which is actively involved in monitoring and reporting of Adverse Drug Reactions to nearby ADR Monitoring Centre and also trains health care professionals in reporting ADRs.
